COLUMBIA, Md. - Could you go without soda for the next 30 days? That's what leaders in Howard County want you to do.
They're calling it the "Soda Free 30" pledge.
It's a campaign to get you to stop drinking soda for the next month. Instead they want you to choose healthier drinks like water.
The hope is that it will get people to take the first step to better health and prevent things like obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
County Executive Ken Ulman and Health Officer Peter Beilenson will kick off the campaign on Thursday morning.
They'll sign a pledge to stop drinking soda for the next 30 days.
