It may be true when it comes to your child's screen time and eating, the combination can be a recipe for weight gain.
But a new study finds kids who are counseled about eating while watching TV, or playing on the computer, may eat fewer meals.
Scott Bea, with the Cleveland Clinic says, "I think, more than anything, parents have to be engaged with their kids. Knowledgeable about nutrition, things of that nature, and imparting that wisdom or kids are going to go their own way and become victims of the advertisers. The advertisers become the parents at that instance."
Kids who eat in front of the television may not read their own internal cues of fullness, eat larger portions, and less healthy foods.
Whether it's screen time or dinner time, parents are the first line of defense when it comes to getting kids to eat healthy.
