What is the actual cost of a heart attack?
A new study finds the cost of hospital stay and medication following a heart attack is more than $8,000 per person.
On top of that, patients lose an average of 60 workdays right after their heart attacks.
The authors of the study say because of the devastating effects heart disease can have, doctors should focus on prevention.
They should encourage healthy habits, and closely monitor the blood pressure and cholesterol levels of patients.
