As the temperature goes down, your chances of gaining weight go up.
Colder temperatures typically keep a lot of us inside and less active, and provide less opportunity to burn those extra calories.
And, many of our favorite fall foods are packed with calories. So, you may want to alter your recipes a little.
Registered dietician Carolyn Snyder with the Cleveland Clinic says, "It's easy to modify the fat content in the cream soups if you just change to a skim milk. If you're using less-starchy vegetables, if you're using a fat-free stock. So, you can still enjoy all of your fall foods, you just have to be mindful that those calories are going to stay with you over the winter months."
