BALTIMORE - You probably don't want your adolescent daughter on a diet, but if you want her to stay at a healthy weight, it seems the dash diet is the way to go.
This particular diet is touted as a way to reduce high blood pressure in adults, but it's also great for young girls.
The diet emphasizes higher consumption of low-fat dairy products; fish, chicken and lean meats; and nuts, fruits, whole grains, and vegetables.
Doctors say one benefit for young people who follow the dash diet will be in better overall health as they age.

Health
Obesity is a disease. That's the word from the American Medical Association.
If doctors and patients used prescription drugs more wisely, they could save the U.S. health care system at least $213 billion a year, by reducing medication overuse, underuse and other flaws in care that cause complications and longer, more-expensive treatments, researchers conclude.
How would you like to get an IV just to make you feel better?
It's a new wellness concept that's gaining popularity.
