WASHINGTON - Think you're pretty clean?

Well, you're crawling with germs.

But don't panic just yet.

Researchers report the healthy person is home to more 10,000 species of microbes.

From your gut to your armpits, all those little guys weigh a few pounds.

The Human Microbiome Project reports the germs help to keep us healthy by handling everything from food digestion to fighting inflammation.

Next, the researchers want to determine why bad bugs harm some people but not others.
