ROSEDALE, Md. - A grand jury indicted the McDonald's beating suspect on hate crime charges.

18-year-old Teonna Brown is accused of beating a transgender woman in a Rosedale McDonald's last month. In addition to assault charges, a Baltimore County grand jury handed up a Hate Crime indictment Monday.

The victim is 19-year-old Chrissy Polis.  The case drew national attention because McDonald's employees stood by and watched, with one worker even recording it and uploading it on YouTube.

Brown and a 14-year-old are charged in the brutal attack.  The 14-year-old faces similar charges, including a hate crime, in Juvenile Court.

A good samaritan, Vicky Thoms, tried to stop the fight, but even Thoms got hurt in the fight.
