BALTIMORE - A local school is using the power of technology to improve student achievement. A mobile learning lab is helping some Baltimore students with their academics.
Students at Reginald Lewis High School are in for some state of the art learning.
For the first time mobile learning devices will be brought into the classroom. Five classes will use 30 new Galaxy Samsung tablets powered by Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network for lessons in Spanish 1, 2 and AP Spanish.
A Verizon Wireless mobile learning lab bus will also continue weekly visits to the school.
Once named one of the most dangerous schools in the state, Principal Dr. Barney Wilson has been instrumental in turning this school around and says technology is a real game changer for students.
The program also pairs students with mentors from Morgan State University to prep for SATs via Samsung tablets and educational applications.
There will be an open house today starting at 9 to discuss the mobile learning lab.
