BALTIMORE - Maryland education officials are set to hear analysis of the results of the latest batch of standardized tests for elementary and middle school students.

The Maryland School Assessments are given to students in grades 3 through 8 and test their proficiency in reading, math and science. The results, which were released last month, are used to measure whether schools are meeting federal standards.

Staffers with the State Department of Education will analyze and review the results at Tuesday's meeting of the State Board of Education.

The board is also scheduled to hear about implementation of reforms under the federal Race to the Top program. Maryland won a $250 million grant from the program last year.
