BALTIMORE - The Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust (BEST) will host a free screening of the documentary "First Generation" on October 16th.
As BEST continues its mission of recruiting and supporting through the admissions process academically ambitious African American students with financial need from Baltimore area, films like "First Generation" effectively demonstrate the need for their program in Maryland and nationwide.
The free screening documentary of "First Generation" follows the lives of first generation high school students as they navigate the challenges of the college admissions process in hopes of breaking the cycle of poverty that affects their families and communities.
The screening takes place on October 16th from 6pm to 8pm at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.
