TOWSON, Md - Two Baltimore County Public Schools received top honors. Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts in Dundalk and Cromwell Valley Elementary Regional Magnet School of Technology in Towson have been selected as Schools of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America.
The schools are among 95 nationally from 14 states and the only Maryland schools to receive the top honor from Magnet Schools of America.
The awards, which come with a $2,500 cash award for each school are given to magnet schools or programs that demonstrate a high commitment to academic standards, curriculum innovation, diversity efforts, specialized teaching staffs and parent and community involvement.
The awards will be presented to each school in May during the organization's annual conference in Tulsa, OK.
