GLEN BURNIE, Md - The Civil Trial of Debby and Joshua Franco is scheduled to begin Thursday afternoon in District Court in Glen Burnie. They were given civil citations for providing alcohol to three teenagers who were killed in a car crash in January.
The crash happened on Interstate 97 and route 50. Several 911 callers say the car carrying three teens was going the wrong way before the head on collisions in Davidsonville.
The crash killed 18-year-old Breanna Franco, 19-year-old Brittany Walker, 18-year old Zachary Rose and the driver of the other car 55-year-old Terry Wayne Davis.
Debby and Joshua Franco are accused of serving alcohol to minors during a birthday party at their home on West drive in Severna Park before the accident happened.
Maryland State Police say both drivers were under the influence of alcohol. The Francos lawyer says his clients are innocent. He says the alcohol was flowing from places beyond the Franco home.
The State's Attorney's Office says there is no law in place that has tougher penalties like jail time for adults who serve alcohol to minors. The civil citations carry no jail time, but possibly as much as a $500 fine.
