WESTMINSTER, Md. - Students from across Maryland, central Pennsylvania and Washington, DC participate in workshops and hands on activities for the 18th Annual German American Day. Students will also enjoy a performance by German pop rock band Artig.
More than 1,000 middle and high school students will descend on McDaniel College for the 18th annual German American Day. Students participate in workshops and hands on activities, including the art of cheese making, face painting and German folk dance.
German American Day has been formally observed annually on October 6 since 1987 when President Ronald Reagan signed the first Presidential Proclamation. German American Day commemorates the significant contributions made by Americans of German descent.
The event will be held on Tuesday October 16th from 8:30am to 2pm at McDaniel College in Westminster.
