BALTIMORE - Chef Connie Johnson is hosting a culinary arts summer camp for needy children. The camp teaches students about healthy eating.
The camp will run from June 25th to July 27th. Chef Connie is seeking donations to help underprivileged children attend the camp.
Donations will help low income families with the weekly tuition costs of $120 per child. Chef Johnson is also in the process of developing a culinary reality show for children. She also continues to build a presence in the community for her program called Vegetable Time at Calvin Rodwell Elementary School.
Vegetable Time was developed by Chef Connie in honor of her late daughter, Bijan, to offer healthier lifestyle choices for children to combat obesity.
The summer camp is a way to extend the culinary arts program to children who are unable to participate in her program during the school year at Calvin Rodwell Elementary School.
