Jemicy School receives $1 million endowment from Samuel G & Margaret A Gorn Foundation

OWINGS MILLS, Md - Jemicy School in Owings Mills announced that the Samuel G. and Margaret A. Gorn Foundation, Inc. has donated $1,000,000 to the school to fully endow a fund to be known as the Samuel G. and Margaret A. Gorn Angel Fund.

Mr. and Mrs. Gorn were long-time contributors to the Valley Academy, continuing their commitment to Jemicy when the schools merged. 

In 2010, Mrs. Gorn increased their generous support to the Jemicy School community and established an ongoing fund in 2012 to honor and recognize the commitment she and her husband Samuel made to the education of children in the Baltimore area.

Mrs. Gorn passed away in May and her husband died in 2007.
