Bel Air, Md - Students at Southampton Middle School in Bel Air jumped all over heart disease and stroke by participating in Hoops for Heart. The students raised $18,739 for the American Heart Association, which funds research, programs and education to fight heart disease and stroke.
On Friday April 19th, Southampton Middle will host the finale for the school's annual basketball three point shoot out. Twelve students from each grade will compete to be crowned the Southampton Champion. Some of the top fundraisers in the school will be able to pie a teacher.
Hoops for Heart is a program that promotes physical activity and heart health through playing basketball. It is co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Heath, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
