Catonsville, Md - It's been a long time coming, but on Monday Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville unveiled the new turf field. Former Baltimore Orioles great and Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr and Baltimore Archbishop William E. Lori were on hand for the Blessing and celebration.
It's phase II of the Academy Capital Campaign: Anchored in Excellence; Charting our Future. The project cost $1.7 million. Ripken Design and Fields Inc. played a big part in creating the design of the softball diamond multi purpose field.
Hundreds of students, faculty, alumni and coaches turned out for the event. Ripken shared his thoughts on motivation and leadership with students. Baltimore Archbishop William E. Lori Blessed the new turf field.
Mount de Sales Academy is a Catholic all-girls college preparatory high school. It was founded in 1852.
