EDGEWOOD, Md - On Thursday night family and friends will gather for a candle light vigil to remember the life of 17-year-old Michael Kearins.
Kearins and 18-year-old Christopher Cousins were both shot last week. It happened at a recreational park in Edgewood. According to Published Reports authorities said the teens went to the park for some sort of meeting.
There was a confrontation and shots were fired. Kearins was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Cousins was flown to Shock Trauma where he was later reported to be in good condition. 21-year-old Garfield Smith III was arrested and charged with several crimes including first and second degree murder.
The vigil will be held at 7:30pm Thursday at Cunion Park on Trimble Road in Edgewood.
