BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. - Students from seven Baltimore County Public Schools will perform different dance styles they learned through a five-day program.

In culmination of their participation in the "Grade 5 Ballroom Program," students from Charlesmont , Chase, Jacksonville, Norwood, Oliver Beach, Sandy Plains, and Shady Spring Elementary, will perform the cha-cha, merengue , swing, and tango dances for community members.  The performances will showcase the students' successes in learning the steps of the four dance styles through the five-day program.

Centered on the basics of cha-cha, merengue, swing, and tango dance styles, the Grade 5 Ballroom Program aligns with the Rhythms and Dance unit of the physical education curriculum.

Seven years after its inception, the program, which has increased in popularity from 27 schools last school year to 40 schools this school year, will reach nearly 4,000 Grade 5 students over the course of the 2012-2013 school year.
