BALTIMORE - Cyber crime is on the rise and a new report shows that Maryland ranks No. 7 when fighting the practice on the internet.

This includes everything from identity theft to phone scams.

California tops the list with 314,000 complaints of cyber crime in 2011. The report was issued by the Internet Crime Complaint Center , a partnership of the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice.

The newest form of online cyber crime is on our cell phones and smart phones.
