ELLICOT CITY, Md. -
At the Nail and Hair Care Spa in Ellicot City they are back open, but the thoughts of a gunman shooting one of their own employees and her friend near closing time Saturday night it still very vivid.
"Absolutely. I would be lying if I said I wasn't shaken, um...it is to be expected, but I think business can get back to normal," said employee Chrishna Lopez
And that is the hope here.
Saturday’s shooting was a targeted incident and spa owners hope it doesn't hurt this young and fragile business.
Its customers feel the same way; the spa was busy yesterday and had a steady flow today, all by patrons who say they wanted to support the business in the wake of such a violent crime.
"It's always a shocking thing. When people hear about shootings they get scared, so I was really concerned and I wanted to show my support and let Linh and everyone else who works here know that we still support them as a community and I will still be coming out," said customer Laura Cannon.
Meanwhile police say the shooter, Phuong Minh Pham is still at large.
Detectives were able to locate his 1998 Honda Accord in Columbia Sunday night and tell us they've already processed the car for evidence as it now sits in a Howard County towing yard.
Pham is obviously armed and his charges tell you he is dangerous.
Howard County Police say they are working with multiple jurisdictions to bring him in.
Back at the nail salon, they're working on getting back to normal by leaning on its loyal customers.
"Yes. They call and ask if we ok. People are very nice and this is a great community," said manager Linh Le.
There is a 2,500 dollar reward for information leading to Pham’s arrest. If you have any information you are asked to call Howard County Police at 410.313.STOP.
