Pair nabbed for burglaries in 4 counties

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WMAR) - Howard County Police have charged two me they believe are responsible for a series of commercial burglaries and attempts in Columbia. The same two suspects are believed to also be involved in series of burglaries in three other counties.

Davon Alexander Jones, 18, and Sylvester Joseph Johnson, 34, are now facing at least 12 counts of burglary and other charges in Howard County alone.

On May 30, the pair are believed to be responsible for shattering glass at the from of 12 restaurants and businesses along Dobbin Road, Dobbin Center Way, Snowden River Parkway and Oakland Mills Road in Columbia, and taking cash if it was found.

Detectives in Howard County worked with investigators from neighboring jurisdictions and identified other cases that appeared to be linked to Columbia.

On June 6, Baltimore County Police were responding to a burglary alarm when the spotted a vehicle that had matched the description of that used in Columbia and other areas and arrested both of the suspects.

Jones and Johnson are also facing at least 4 counts of burglary charges in Baltimore County, but police still have about 18 additional counts pending. In all the string of burglaries in Baltimore County affected nearly 20 carryout restaurants.

Police say the two burglars are also responsible for numerous burglaries in Carroll and Anne Arundel Counties.
