Around 10:45 PM a call from a Columbia Flyer taxi driver was made to police saying he had been assaulted.
The night started with the driver receiving a call for a pick up in Sweet Fern of Columbia. Four males got in the car and asked to be driven to Sewell's Orchard Road in Columbia.
At some point during the ride, the driver was instructed to pull over and as he did, the passenger behind him began choking him with a karate belt. The front passenger, pulled a gun and threatened to kill him. The driver, in fear for his life, accelerated and drove into a tree, which then deployed the airbags. He was then able to escape and get to a house where he called 911.
Evidence in the cab and phone records, led the detectives to the four suspects.
All four are being held at the Howard County Detention Center. Woods is being held for second-degree attempted murder, conspiracy, armed robbery, robbery and assault with a $350,000 bond.
