CLARKSVILLE, Md. - What type of person steals from churches and elementary schools?
According to the Howard County Police Department, it's the same type of person that stole a television, tools and cash from the River Hill Garden Center.
Jason Wingo, 34, of 5657 Trotter Road in Clarksville is facing numerous counts of burglary, destruction of property and theft in a series of incidents that began last month.
Wingo was arrested on September 11, the same day the Linden-Linthicum United Methodist Church was broken into. A television was stolen in that incident. Police say it was the same Sony television found in Wingo's truck shortly before his arrest.
Police began investigating after the August 20 burglary at the River Hill Garden Center. The business owner told
investigators there was also an unreported burglary Aug. 7 in which a 46-inch Samsung TV had been
Police say they identified Wingo as a suspect after learning he pawned a television matching the one taken from River Hill Garden Center.
Investigators then say they were able to connect Wingo to the September 3 burglary at the Red Mango restaurant and the September 6 copper theft at Clarksville Elementary School.
Wingo was arrested without incident and is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on
