ABERDEEN, Md. (WMAR) -
Maryland State Police are trying to sort out a shooting with at least two suspects involved. One is the victim himself.

Police say one man is being treated for gunshot wounds and another is being questioned while investigators search several locations for evidence in a Wednesday night shooting.

The fist suspect is the man who was shot. He is a 37-year-old Aberdeen man. Police say he was breaking down the door to enter an apartment and confront the occupants when he was shot.

He is currently undergoing treatment at Maryland Shock Trauma.

The second suspect is the man who is currently in police custody. He is a 38-year-old Havre de Grace man. Police believe he may have shot the Aberdeen man.

The initial call for service came shortly before 11:30 p.m. yesterday as a 911 call was received from a person who reported hearing what sounded like gunshots at a nearby apartment in the 3300 block of Churchville Road.

When troopers arrived, they found  the Havre de Grace man standing in the parking lot with his hands in the air. He was taken into custody.

At the same time, officers from the Aberdeen Police Department were dispatched to a gas station on West Bel Air Avenue. When they arrived, they found the Aberdeen man in his car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He told police that he was shot by the Havre de Grace man.

The preliminary information suggests that the Aberdeen man came to the apartment and began banging on and kicking the door.

Witnesses hear the Aberdeen man yelling that he knew a woman, apparently his former girlfriend, was in the apartment with the Havre de Grace man.

Within moments, witnesses heard gunshots and all three people left the apartment.

A woman who is believed to have been in the apartment at the time of the shooting is currently being questioned by police.
