Teen girls charged after fight at basketball game

EDGEWOOD, Md. - Two teenaged girls have been charged following a fight at an Edgewood High School basketball game.

According to charging documents, on Friday, Feb. 3, Harford County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the high school for a fight that had just occurred.

Once Deputies arrived, they saw several spectators at the boys basketball game attempting to restrain two juvenile females, one from Joppatowne High School and the other from Aberdeen High School.  

As Deputies attempted to break up the fight, the two girls shouted loudly back and forth profanities and threats. Deputies repeatedly asked the Aberdeen student to stop shouting and remain calm, but their requests were met with negative results.

Both girls were escorted from the school and taken into police custody.

A review of the school camera footage showed the Joppatowne student approaching the Aberdeen student and punching her in the face, initiating the fight.

The Joppatowne student was charged with second degree assault and disorderly conduct and was later released into the custody of her mother.

The Aberdeen student was charged with disorderly conduct.
