HARFORD COUNTY, Md - The first incident happened in Bel Air Sunday night.
The homeowner was stabbed after he tried to stop a man who police say was breaking into his house
Harford County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested 24-year old Sean Michael Certeza is charged with attempted murder and first degree burglary after authorities say he tried to break into a home in the 1800 block of Glendale lane in the Thomas run neighborhood.
Deputies say Certeza was trying to break into the home when the homeowner surprised him with a baseball bat.
The two men fought and Certeza stabbed the homeowner and took off.
He was later caught and deputies say he confessed.
Twenty miles away in Jarrettsville just last night, authorities say a man who tried to rob two teens in their house was stabbed during a scuffle.
Deputies say three men were visiting this house on paddock court when one of the men pulled a gun and attempted to rob the occupants.
A fight broke out between the homeowners and the three men and deputies say one of those men was stabbed in the stomach and detained by the two teens.
The two other suspects ran away.
This neighborhood of only a few houses hasn't ever seen anything like this.
"When we first heard it my wife, friends of ours who live next door called my wife and said it was a home invasion we, we never came out just stayed on our deck and watched all the lights at first i thought why all the way out here it seemed funny to me but it can happen." Neighbor Paul Funk says.
So far no charges have been filed in this case.
The suspect who was stabbed was taken to shock trauma for treatment for stab wounds in the stomach.
He's expected to recover.
Deputies are still looking for the two other men who fled the scene in the house.
