PYLESVILLE, Md. - Maryland State Police detectives believe a 35-year-old Harford County school employee had sex with a 15-year-old student.
Amanda Kay Miller, 35, of Whiteford, Maryland has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a minor, third degree sex offense and two counts of fourth degree sex offense.
Officials received information on the child sex abuse case on February 8. Investigators interviewed the student, who according to reports, said he and Miller had sexual relations dating back to December 2012. Officials say the student told them Miller also took him home from school on occasion and purchased him cigarettes.
Miller is reported to be an inclusion helper at the North Harford High School. An inclusion helper supports the classroom teacher by providing support to students during instruction, prepares instructional materials for students under the direction of the teacher, and charts data on student progress.
According to an incident report, Miller admitted to having intercourse with the student and also said she had performed oral sex on him in the parking lot of the Fallston Wal-Mart.
Police arrested Miller on Monday at North Harford High School. She was booked into the Harford County Detention Center where she was later released after posting a $50,000 bond.
