EDGEWOOD, Md. (WMAR) -

The Deputy State Fire Marshal has charged a 15-year-old girl after they say she set her father's house on fire after the two had an argument.

Officials say the fire broke out on Saturday in the 1700 block of Harbinger Trail. The Sheriff's office initially responded to the home for a 911 hang-up, but heard the smoke alarms when they arrived.

Deputies discovered a couch on fire in the basement and sent for fire crews. Investigators have since determined that a 15-year-old girl intentionally set the fire using a liquid accelerate in the basement of their home after a dispute with her father.

The fire quickly spread throughout the two story home and caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.

Two firefighters were hurt during the incident. Both have since been released from local hospitals.

The teen has been referred to the Harford County Department of Juvenile Services on charges of first degree arson, first degree malicious burning and two counts of reckless endangerment.
