Police said 52-year-old Rodney Holmes Smith, formerly of Connecticut, was found dead around 8:20 a.m. in an apartment on Baltimore Pike near Route 1.

Police say a preliminary report from the Medical Examiners Office has revealed that Smith died of blunt force trauma. Police are still investigating the circumstances that led up to his death.

Smith recently moved to the area from Connecticut, and police say they have only been to the home once since he has been in the area for reports of an argument.
