Benson Post Office robbed at gunpoint

BENSON, Md. (WMAR) -  

Police in Harford County are looking for the man responsible for robbing a Post Office Wednesday afternoon.
 
Edward Hopkins with the Harford County Sheriff's Office says officers responded to the Benson Post Office in the 100 block of Connolly Road at about 1:45 p.m. for reports of a robbery. 
 
Hopkins says that a man waited in line with other customers until he got to the counter, at which time he displayed a handgun, leaned across the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from the register. 
 
The man then fled the area on foot. The suspect is described as a white male about 6' tall, in his 30's with dark hair, wearing sunglasses, blue jeans with a red trim and a gray sweatshirt.  
 
There were no reports of any injuries in the robbery. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 410-838-6600.
