FEDERALSBURG, Md. (WMAR) - Maryland State police are investigating the apparent murder of a man whose body was found just before midnight yesterday, not long after a 911 caller said they heard gunshots in the area.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Anthony Abner of Federalsburg.
The preliminary investigation revealed that shortly before midnight on September 25, Federalsburg Police were dispatched to the 200 block of East Central Avenue for a report of a body seen lying on the pavement in front of a business.
When they arrived, they found Abner's body, which had sustained at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police believe Abner had been living in Federalsburg for less than a month, after moving there from Seaford, Delaware.
There is no known motive for the killing and there are no suspects.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 410-819-4747 or 410-822-3101.
