STEVENSVILLE, Md. - The Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff has charged a Chester man with malicious destruction of property, theft and contamination of food after he reportedly poured bleach into a grocery store case.  It happened January 26th at the Food Lion store in Stevensville.

Police say the suspect, 57-year-old John Allen Waskey, was spotted on security footage pouring bleach in several areas, including the meat case.  Managers at the Food Lion looked at the footage after discovering 96 packages of chicken and pork covered in bleach.  The meat, valued at approximately $700, was removed.

The Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff says Waskey turned himself in today.  According to the agency, managers who viewed the security footage identified Waskey as a former employee.

Anyone who may have purchased a contaminated package of meat is asked to contact the Food Lion store directly.
