ELKTON, Md. (AP) - A Delaware man who pleaded guilty to drowning a woman in a bathtub in a home in Elkton has been sentenced to 100 years in prison.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jeffrey Cordell of Middletown, Del., told the judge at sentencing on Friday to give him the penalty 27-year-old Erica Green's family asked for. He said he was perplexed as to why he killed Green.

The Cecil Whig reports that Cordell pleaded guilty in November to first-degree murder. He drowned Green in a bathtub in a home on Locust Lane in Elkton on May 18, 2010 and set the house on fire.
