WESTMINSTER, Md. (WMAR) -
A Westminster couple has been charged following what police say a burglary and theft conspiracy.
Sheriff's Detectives charged William Scottie Bircher II, 25 and Shannon Lee, 26, both of Westminster this morning for burglary and theft.
Between June 2012 and November 2012, the Sheriff's Office responded to four burglaries in the northern Westminster and Hampstead areas where the suspects forced their way into home and took jewelry, coins, firearms and other small miscellaneous items for an estimated $58,000 value.
During the investigation, Bircher and Lee were seen breaking into a Westminster home and subsequently placed under arrest.
When Bircher and Lee's homes were searched, Detectives found about $25,000 worth of stolen property.
The couple was charged with 4 counts of first degree burglary, 4 counts of conspiracy to commit first degree burglar, theft $10,000 to under $100,000 and theft $1,000 to under $10,000.
The couple is currently being held pending a bail hearing before the Court Commissioner, after that, they will be returned to the Detention Center where they're awaiting trial on other burglary charges.
