The Westminster Police Department is seeking public assistance in its investigation of three separate robberies over the past two weekends which investigators believe are related.
Police said the first incident under investigation occurred at about 9:45 p.m. Oct. 13 on the parking lot of the Dollar Store, located at 8 Westminster Shopping Center. In this incident, a man approached two employees and demanded they turn over the store's night deposit. The suspect fled after failing to get anything from the victims.
Then, at about 8:35 p.m. on Friday, a victim was accosted by a man armed with a knife and demanded cash from the victim. He ran off after getting an unknown amount of money. The victim was not injured in the incident, which occurred at the 140 Village Shopping Center.
Finally, shortly after midnight on Sunday a similar incident that occurred two days earlier took place in the area of Pennsylvania Ave and James St. However, the victim reported nothing was taken from them.
Police said the person wanted in connection with all three crimes in described as a light-skinned black male possibly in his 30's, approximately 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2 in height and weighed an estimated 180 to 200 pounds. The subject has been described as wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled tight over his face.
The Westminster Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect. Anyone having information as it pertains to these incidents is asked to contact 410-848-4646.
