SYKESVILLE, Md. (WMAR) - Two teens have been charged with a series of mailbox explosions in the Carroll County area.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, Blayne Cianci, 19, of Finksburg and a 16-year-old juvenile were both taken into police custody Monday.
The arrests stem from an early morning incident on September 3 when the two manufactured 6 devices and placed them inside of 5 mailboxes and a propane gas grill in the Sykesville and Woodbine areas.
The devices were created using illegal firework material which they then ignited.
Both Cianci and the juvenile have been charged with 6 counts of manufacturing and possession of a destructive device, t counts of malicious destruction of property, 6 counts of discharging fireworks without a permit and 6 counts of possession of fireworks with out a permit.
