TANEYTOWN, Md. (WMAR) - An Eldersburg man has been charged in a Frederick County copper and vehicle theft.
Andrew Joseph Reier, 25, was arrested Friday and charged with burglary, motor vehicle theft and theft under $1,000.
Shortly after 6:00 a.m., Frederick County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 16800 block of Bullfrog Road in Taneytown for a reported burglary and vehicle theft. Deputies arrived to learn that the suspect had fled the area on foot.
Reier was located about 100 yards off of Harney Road, lying in a farm field.
The investigation revealed that Reier had gone to the property to steal copper cable and then used the victim's vehicle to transport the stolen cable away from the area.
