MARRIOTTSVILLE, Md. - A 42-year-old Marriottsville man was arrested after police say he threatened an acquaintance with a handgun owned by his girlfriend.

Police later arrested the girlfriend after they say she drove drunk to get the gun back.

It all started at around 9 p.m. Sunday night.

Police were called to a home in the 6600-block of Sunset drive by a homeowner who said he was threatened with a handgun by Jeffrey Clayton Turco. The man was able to wrestle the gun away from Turco who fled before police showed up.

As deputies arrived on the scene, a woman, later identified as 50-year-old Lynette Marie Alan, pulled up. Police say she was there to get the gun which is registered under her name.

Police say Alan appeared to be drunk. She was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

Police later found Turco at his home. After a brief stand-off he was arrested and charged with first-degree assault with a firearm and other related charges.
