A 24-year-old Towson University student was stabbed during an off-campus robbery Sunday night, and police are looking for three men in connection with the violent crime.
Around 10:45 p.m. the student was in the area of East Burke and Center avenues in Towson when he was robbed and stabbed by three unknown males, according to official tweets from Towson University.
The men stole the student's cell phone before one of them pulled a knife and stabbed him several times in the upper body, according to a release from the university. The men then ran westbound on Burke Avenue.
Police don't have much to go on. As of Monday afternoon, investigators still hadn't been able to interview the victim according to a spokeswoman for Baltimore County Police.
"Unfortunately because of the seriousness of his injuries, he was not able to tell us a lot of detail about what had happened," Elise Armcost said.
Armcost says the victim was able to flag down a person in the area. That individual contacted 9-1-1.
In addition to alerting followers on Twitter to the stabbing, the university issued text message and email alerts to students, warning them to use caution if in the area, university spokesperson Gay Pinder said.
The injured student was a commuter, Pinder said. The student was taken to Shock Trauma for treatment and his status was unavailable as of 10 a.m. Monday.
Anyone with information about the crime can contact the Baltimore County Police Department, 410-887-2361.
