Police charge teen as adult in mall shooting

WOODLAWN, Md. (WMAR) -  

Baltimore County Police have arrested and charged a 17-year-old boy as an adult after a shooting in a mall parking lot.
 
Around 11:00 p.m. on Friday, police and fire crews responded to a parking lot at Security Square Mall in Woodlawn for a shooting.
 
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from a gun shot wound.
 
Police say the shooting happened just in front of the mall entrance.
 
Upon further investigation, police identified 17-year-old Rickey Jerome Freeman of the 7500 block of Reserve Circle as the suspect.
 
Shawn Vinson, spokesperson with the Baltimore County Police Department, says Freeman is charged with attempted first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence.
 
Freeman is being charged as an adult and held without bail.
