Detectives learned that a large party was held at the hotel. They believe that guests at the party became unruly, and the hostess asked people to leave. They say several fights broke out in the parking lot as a result.
Investigators say surveillance cameras at the hotel show the suspect carrying and firing the weapon at the victim.
