TIMONIUM, Md. - A physicians assistant with ties to a suspected Timonium pill mill has had her license suspended by the Maryland Board of Physicians. Marina Gajduko's privileges were summarily suspended in Board action taken earlier this week.
According to court documents, Gajduko worked as a physicians assistant at the Healthy Life Medical Group and had worked at the company's clinic in Timonium since August 2011. The Board began investigating that clinic, located on York Road, after receiving numerous complaints from law enforcement and other health care practitioners. Specific complaints about Gajduko's prescribing practices were made to the Board by a pharmacist.
Healthy Life Medical Group was busted by federal agents back in May and its three operators, Alina Margulis, Michael Reznikov and Gerald Wiseberg were charged with conspiracy to distribute Schedule II narcotics. Federal authorities allege the facility run by those individuals was operating as a pill mill where patients paid cash for prescriptions, with many coming from out of state to seek drugs.
According to Board documents, Gajduko was supervised by Dr. William Crittenden, whose license was suspended earlier this year for unprofessional prescribing practices. The Board says Gajduko prescribed high doses of powerful prescriptions based only on the complaints from her patients and did not physically examine them.
