Man extradited for grandparents murders

PIKESVILLE, Md. (WMAR) - Baltimore County Police say a man wanted in connection with the death of his grandparents his been extradited from Oklahoma to face murder charges. 

 
Matthew Charles Long, 31, was extradited yesterday and is now being held without bail in the Baltimore County Detention Center. 
 
Long has been charged with two counts of first degree murder in the death of his grandparents, Vaughn and Marjorie Pepper on September 10.
 
Long had been hospitalized after what police said was a suicide attempt in an Oklahoma hotel room, days after the murders. 
 
Police say the weapons used to kill the Peppers were a pair of 20-pound dumbbells and a knife.
