BALTIMORE, Md. - Here’s something to go into the dumb criminal handbook. Don’t call the police after you hurt yourself committing a crime.

Around 5:15 Saturday morning Baltimore County  Police were called to 5668 Baltimore National Pike after a man was reported to have thrown a rock through the window of a Safeway gas station and stolen cigarettes.

Officers at the scene were reviewing security video when at 6:35am dispatchers received a 911 call from a man claiming he was jumped by two men at the AMF Westview Bowling Lanes located just blocks away from the gas station.

Police investigators found that the man had hurt himself breaking into the gas station and thought his story about being jumped was a good cover up.

Unfortunately for the bad guy, police saw through the ruse and after he’s treated for his injuries he’ll be charged with several crimes.
