PERRY HALL, Md. - Beverly Moore's porch light remains on, her car hasn't moved.
It takes time to settle one's estate, a task left to Moore's best friend who spent her morning with an attorney to care of the physical, but late last night...news that will settle the spiritual.
"It was just a great feeling, wonderful to know that, you know, she can rest in peace now...yup, she can."
Because Rose Stefan learned Baltimore County Police found the car that hit and killed her friend.
A white Ford 500 was located in Harford County with the kind of front end damage detectives were searching for.
An anonymous tip that paid off big.
"It is a huge break in the case. We are very excited. The focus of our investigation has now shifted from finding the vehicle to determining who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash," said Detective Cathy Batton.
And while police say that could take a few days, it is more of a matter of when than if.
A development Moore's best friend is eager to see.
Wanting to know who, or more importantly how the driver had the conscience or lack there of to flee the scene on Seven Courts Drive now marked with flowers; the very spot where he or she ended a life and didn't so much as look back.
"How could you do that? Ya know, this is somebody that other people loved. It wasn't a piece of trash that you ran over. It hurts," said Stefan.
Baltimore County Police say the car is still being processed by detectives to gather the evidence they need to charge the driver.
Neighbors of Beverly Moore also hope this hit and run will persuade the county to install a cross walk, light or stop sign along that busy road.
