Babysitter hit by upstairs bullet

OWINGS MILLS, Md> (WMAR) - Baltimore County Police have arrested and charged a teen with the accidental shooting of a babysitter.

Just before 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, officers responded to the unit block of Straw Hat Road in Owings Mills for reports of a shooting.

Police say a 20-year-old babysitter was watching a baby when a bullet came in through the ceiling of an apartment and hit her. The victim was taken to a local hospital where she is listed in good condition.

Upon further investigation police found that the bullet had come from an upstairs apartment that was occupied by an 18-year-old man, his father and others. Police arrested the teen for accidentally shooting the gun as well as his father.

Police have not yet released their names or what exactly they will be charged with.
