DUNDALK, Md. (WMAR) - Baltimore County police have made an arrest in the fatal stabbing that happened on Scarsdale Road on Monday.
Edwin Alexander Inglesias-Reyes, 20, has been charged with first degree murder. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
Investigators say the victim, identified as 26-year-old Victor DeJesus Portillo-Portillo, got into an argument with Inglesias-Reyes. They say the two men were roommates.
Iglesias-Reyes reportedly stabbed Portillo-Portillo multiple times and fled the home immediately afterward, leaving a trail of blood throughout the neighborhood.
Officials with the Baltimore County Police Department say police and fire units responded to the scene after getting a call for a cardiac arrest at the Scarsdale Road residence at about 6:21 a.m. They say Portillo-Portillo was already dead of multiple stab wounds.
Investigators say a blood trail from the victim's body led them to an alley where a knife was found. Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered the victim, already deceased from multiple stab wounds. They also observed a blood trail leading out of the basement into a rear alley where a knife was found.
