Shooting at Labor Day party leaves woman dead

BALTIMORE - A Labor Day weekend party turned tragic for a Baltimore County woman.

Police said that Larelle Amos, 22 of the 5300 block of Leabers Court in Baltimore County was shot to death while attending a party in Northeast Baltimore.

According to police, around 2:15 a.m. officers were called to the 4800 block of the Alameda for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found Amos suffering from a gunshot wound to her chest. She was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital where she died a short time later.

A preliminary investigation found that Amos was standing in the yard at a party in the 4800 block of the Alameda when shots rang out from the 4700 block striking her in the chest. Police do not believe Amos was the intended target.
