BALTIMORE - Baltimore City Police are investigating the shooting a man by a security guard. 

 
Officers responded to the 500 block of West Franklin Street for reports of a shooting at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday. 
 
Once on the scene, officers discovered a shooting victim. The preliminary information suggests that the victim was shot in the leg by a licensed security guard. 
 
The victim was allegedly breaking into a vehicle when approached by a security guard and a physical altercation ensued which led to the victim being shot. 
 
The security guard was not injured in the incident and detectives are conferring with the State's Attorneys' Office regarding the incident.
